TOURNAMENT POLICIES
All participants are expected to read the official policies prior to arriving onsite
REFUNDS & MORE
- All deposits are non-refundable & non-transferrable
- If a team pulls out within 30 days of an event start date, no refunds or credits will be given
- If a team pulls out 30 days or more from an event start date, deposits will be lost & remaining funds paid will be turned into credits
- Credits are only eligible for 1 year from the event date. They will be added to the club director/admin’s Legends League Apps Account to be used at a future event of your choice. Credits will expire from the account 1 year from the event date.
- No refunds will be issued if the tournament is cancelled or shortened for any reason, including inclement weather or any other force majeure
- At our Showcase events, players may receive a full refund for injuries if a valid doctor’s note is provided
WEATHER
- Legends reserves the right to cancel, shorten, convert format and/or reschedule tournament games due to inclement weather, poor field conditions, or player and fan safety concerns. No refunds will be granted if these actions are necessary.
- If we need to pause play due to weather, every attempt will be made to update the changes and/or cancellations through the Legends event website. We will also use our on site staff to communicate directly to people on the ground if possible. Given the weather can change rapidly, and all teams should be prepared to play as soon as the weather clears and fields are playable.
LIGHTNING POLICY
- In the event that lightning is detected either visually onsite or via radar, all play will be suspended immediately. Players and spectators will be directed to leave the fields and seek safe shelter. Play will be allowed to resume 30 minutes after the last sight of lightning is observed.
- Every effort will be made to begin the remaining games on time if we incur any delays. This includes shortening game times and removing the 4 minute warm-up period between games (next games begin immediately after one ends; teams can warm up on sidelines). Once games are back on time, we will resume to standard 21 min halves + 4 minutes between games.
- If lightning occurs in the 2nd half of a game, that game will be considered final and the score at the time of stoppage will be recorded as final
- If lightning occurs in the first half, when play resumes it will be the start of the second half
- If lightning occurs in the first half & we are unable to resume play, two things may happen…
- Legends may attempt to reschedule the game for early the next day.
- If unable to resume at any point, whoever is in the lead will be given the win and the score will be recorded as 1-0 in Tourney Machine. *If this happens in pool play, for rankings purposes, the Goals Against for both teams will be recorded as the avg GA of the teams’ other games played.
ROSTERS, WAIVERS & PLAYER ELIGIBILITY
- League Apps will act as the default team roster. All players participating in Legends events must be registered as a player on League Apps for one team and can only play with that team for the duration of the tournament.
- Only registered players who agree to and complete the waiver may participate in tournament games. Player waivers are built into online player registration in League Apps.
- Teams may not move or transfer players between teams within or outside of the club regardless of eligibility; i.e. players cannot play for more than one team. Any exception must be submitted to the Tournament Director and approved before tournament play begins.
- For HS divisions - eligibility is based on current grad year
- For Youth divisions - eligibility is based on both current grad year & also birth date. Players must meet both qualifications to be eligible.
- Players may play up, but not down. If playing up, they must only play up as they are not allowed to play for two teams.
- Violations to roster/waiver/player eligibility rules may result in the individual being removed from the event + their team forfeiting games and/or playoff status.
PLAYER ELIGIBILITY PROCEDURE
- Player eligibility challenge will only be accepted by Club Directors or Head Coach
- When there is a player in question during a game…
- The director/coach must direct their roster check request to the field marshall sitting at midfield.
- The Field Marshall will alert the Pod Manager and provide the pod manager with Team Name, Player first and Last Name, Player Jersey #
- The Pod manager will relay info to HQ for registration check
- HQ will review League Apps registration
- If a player is registered & within the age/grad guidelines - challenge denied
- If a player is not registered but within age/grad guidelines - player is suspended until they are registered on League Apps by a parent
- If a player is registered & outside age/grad guidelines - the player is removed from play immediately & the game will continue to be played. Tournament Director holds sole discretion on future eligibility of player & potential forfeit for the team in violation.
