The Legends Faceoff is designed to be a fun filled experience on and off the field in one of the most premier areas in all of the US and will serve as a great way to enhance your players fall season. Strategic scheduling and partnerships with local Visitors Bureau’s will allow Legends to deliver on a family focused event in a vacation destination.
The Legends Faceoff is a boys lacrosse tournament looking to service local and regional level teams. Teams have the option to play one day or both days and are guaranteed 3 games/day, set schedule.

Schedule
2024 Tournament Schedule will be posted the week of the event!
For Travel purposes, games will start each day by 7:30 am and end by 6pm.
Any schedule requests must be submitted in writing to events@legendslax.com at least 30 days prior to the start of the tournament. Schedule requests are not guaranteed but Legends will do our best to accommodate if received within the timeframe.

Scoring and Time
- Central Horn
- Refs keep score and penalty time
Tournament Play – Pool Play
- 2 – 21 minutes halves
- 3- minute halftime
- 3 game guarantee (Pool Play)
- No Timeouts
- 2023 NFHS Rules with modifications below
- No Overtime
BOYS SPECIFIC RULES
- No stick checks unless refs think a stick is outrageously illegal
- 4 pole maximum on the field
- Mercy Rule
- (applies to 2031 and below) Applied when there is a 5 goal deficit in pool play. Teams down by 5 or more goals will get a free clear after each goal. Coaches can agree to waive this rule.
- Counts
- 30 seconds to advance the ball into the box (Pool Play and Playoffs)
- 2024 – 2030 Grad Years: Clearing Counts.
- No Counts – 2031/32 Grad Year and below. Exception is a 4-second goalie count
- Checking
- Limited body checking in 2028 – 2032. Big hits & physical play (even within three yards of a loose ball) constitute unnecessary roughness (90 sec penalty)
- One handed stick checks are not allowed in any youth divisions (2031 and below)
- Penalties
- Penalties are running time starting on the whistle (45 or 90 seconds) Penalty time stops during injuries, end of quarters and while another penalty is being assessed.
- BOYS 2031/32 SPECIFIC RULES
- Penalty Time will be served at regular time, and not time and a half
- Counts/Over & Back – Counts will not be enforced. Once a team gets a touch in the box, over & back will be enforced
- Stick Checks – Sticks that are a few inches shorter than the mandated 40” are ok
- One handed stick checks are not allowed in any youth divisions (2031 and below)
EJECTIONS
- Game ejections are handled by the referees
- Tournament ejections are handled by the tournament director (2 unsportsmanlike conduct penalties warrant ejection or 1-game suspension)
RANKINGS:
- Win = 3 points
- Loss = 0 points
- Tie = 1 point
ROSTERING
- All players must be registered and can only play for 1 team, unless approved by event director, in each event.
- Unregistered players are considered ineligible for play and if found may result in a team forfeiting games and player ejection from event.
- Any teams who are found moving players or playing with ineligible players will forfeit that game and possible any others already played.
