The Legends National Cup is the ultimate team tournament for high school and youth aged boys and girls. Legends aims to provide a high quality and rare opportunity for an unmatched experience for all in attendance!

IMPORTANT REMINDERS
- 1 spectator per player
- Masks required when NOT on the fields
- *After your game either proceed to your back to back game immediately or if you have a gap between your games, exit the facility ASAP until it is time for your next game.
- *Please do not arrive more than 20 minutes before your game and stay OUTSIDE of the fence until the game before you is complete.

Legends Lacrosse COVID-19 Procedures & Rules – MESA/GILBERT
Legends Lacrosse main goal is to provide a safe environment for all teams and players participating in the Legends National Cup. All registered players, parents and coaches will receive these procedures & rules prior to arriving at the facility via email. These rules will also be posted on our tournament website. Legends will abide by any facility/state restrictions as well as put the following in place for the safety of all in attendance.
PUBLIC EVENT INFO
- Co-Ed Outdoor Lacrosse Tournament
- Teams will play games on Saturday and Sunday
- Teams from out of state will be in attendance
BEFORE EVENT, LEGENDS WILL:
- Send policies and guidelines to all registered teams, coaches, and players
- Place signage around the facility reminding attendees that Masks are required
- Identify heavy traffic areas and implement plans for additional sanitation stations
- Block schedule teams when possible to get them in and out of the facility as quickly as possible
BEFORE EVENT, ATTENDEES SHOULD:
- Take temperature before you leave home or hotel room
- Anyone with a fever or who has been exposed to someone who has Covid-19 in the14 days prior to the event, whether you have symptoms or not, do not attend
- Wash and sanitize hands often
- If you are considered in a “high risk” category for complications as defined by the CDC please do not attend

- Be sure to bring their own equipment – there will be no sharing of helmets, sticks, pads or mouthguards at this event.
ON FIELD
- Players, coaches, referees do not need to wear a mask when in competition HOWEVER must put a mask on immediately after the game is over. No Exceptions! All spectators and HQ staff must wear masks at all times!
- Field Marshalls will be at each field to make sure that masks are put back on at the completion of the game.
- COMMUNAL WATER NOT Water and water filling stations will NOT be provided.
- Players should be sure to bring their own water and do not share!
- Players will be required to dispose of trash after each game
- No Spitting. If you sneeze, please sanitize hands using sanitizer at the field table
- 1 Spectator per player* This will be ENFORCED. Coaches, refs and Legends Staff allowed inside the complex
- No Stick checks, handshakes, fist bumps, or timeouts
AFTER GAME
- Teams MUST leave the fields promptly after their game is complete.
- Legends will schedule to get teams in and out as quickly as possible
VENUE:
- Legends will work with the facility to make sure all common areas are sanitized frequently throughout the duration of the event.
- Signage will be placed throughout the facility reminding attendees that masks are required and sanitize hands often
- Bathrooms will be sanitized daily, and hand sanitizers will be restocked when empty
- Trash bins will be emptied BEFORE they become full and disposed of in dumpsters
- No food or apparel vendors will be available
- There will be no tailgating or team tents.
EXTRA SANITATION
- Sanitizing Station at entrance and exit
- Masks will be available if someone forgot one
- Each field table and common area will have hand sanitizer available
VIOLATION:
Anyone found violating the tournament rules will be asked to adjust their behavior. If they do not, they will be escorted off the premise by our internal staff and asked not to return to the event.
Legends Lacrosse Girls Tournament Rules
Scoring and Time
- Officials keep game time
- Table keeps yellow card time and score
Tournament Play- every 60 minutes
- 2 – 20 minutes halves
- 2 minute halftime
- NO TIME OUTS ALLOWED
- No overtime- games can end in a tie
Playoff Games
- 2 – 20 minute halves
- 2 minute half time
- Playoff game times kept by Referees
- If regulation ends in a time, we will immediately setup sudden death overtime. First goal wins
Game Rules – 2020 USL Rules w/ Modifications:
- Free movement will apply to all ages- the allowance for free movement by players on a whistle or stoppage of play
- Full checking at HS Levels
- Transitional checking at the 13U and 14U levels [The Sphere (or Imaginary Bubble) around a player’s head (which a defensive player cannot check into or through) is 12 inches, instead of 7 inches (like in HS)].
- Modified checking at the 12U level (Modified Checking: NO checking above the shoulder. All other Modified Checking Rules may also apply.
- 2 yellow cards for 1 player – player is ejected for the remainder of the game, but may play the next game
- Red card for 1 player – player is ejected for the remainder of that game. Officials & Tournament Director will determine if the player will be allowed to play any remaining games.
- If a team accumulates 4 or more cards in a game they do NOT have to play a player down the remainder of the game.
- If final game whistle is blown at the end of time and a free position is being awarded in the critical scoring area – the game will continue until the scoring play is over.
- Please refer to your USL Youth Rulebook for specific rules on your age division
EJECTIONS
- Game ejections are handled by the referees
- Tournament ejections are handled by the Tournament Director

- WIN – 3 points
- Loss – 0 points
- Tie – 1 point

Rule Specifications
- Table personnel will keep penalty time
- Referees will keep game time
- No stick checks unless refs think a stick is outrageously illegal
- 4 poles maximum on the field
- No horns
- No mercy rule
- 20 second to clear half field
- Last two minutes of the game, the team in the lead must clear the ball in 20 seconds, get the ball into the box in 10 seconds, and then keep the ball in the box
- 2020 NFHS Rules Apply
- 2025, 2026, 2027s – No One handed checks
- EXCEPTIONS:
- 45 second technical foul
- 90 second personal foul
- Penalty time starts on the restart of whistle
- In Home can serve a goalie penalty if no second goalie is available
- Last 2 minutes of game the winning team must keep it in the box
EJECTIONS
- Game ejections are handled by the referees
- Tournament ejections are handled by the tournament director (2 unsportsmanlike conduct penalties warrant ejection or 1-game suspension

Maverick will contact every partners hotel to ask that they release the block of rooms HOWEVER most hotels require the name under the room to cancel.
